Roughly 17% of women admit to compulsive pornography use/pornography addiction. That’s one woman in every six, and yet we hardly ever hear about women and porn. I believe that we need to hear women’s voices in this issue. We are told that porn is a problem for young men, or dirty old men, or criminals, but never for women. Certainly never for ‘nice’ women.
Fact: nice women watch porn. Feminists watch porn. Women who hate violence watch porn. Nice, gentle, feminist women watch porn because they are hurt and broken and porn, like any addiction, brings some temporary relief from pain. We need to acknowledge this and give women permission to speak. Without this permission, women will remain trapped in a cycle of silence and shame and will never feel free to seek help.

Really glad to see your blog on the Internet. It is very difficult for women to find the sort of voice you are using about porn addiction. Perhaps you can do for women and porn what Nancy Friday did for women and sexual fantasy.
I really like your blog. It is certainly a topic that society doesn’t hear about. Women suffer too. There is no denying it. I am a male porn addict. Check out my blog: http://www.anonymousaddict12.blogspot.com
